This march is used by the US Army Field Band as a stand-by piece during Presidential Inauguration parades. (Inaugurations occur in January). This march requires no valves and allows the band to continue playing in the event it gets so cold that valves and slides freeze up. It has been used, including President Barack Obama's first inauguration in 2009 where it was 27 degrees F (-3 degrees C) when the parade stepped off.
